Classroom, pencil, hand and writing.

Every child has the right to an education that meets their specific needs. But for many children who attend school in Masiphumelele, access to even the most basic tools, like a pencil, is very often out of reach.

Parents are forced to prioritise feeding their families over buying school supplies. It is no wonder that many vulnerable children do not have the very basics they need to learn.

Too often, we have seen the panic in a child’s eyes, after they have misplaced the only pencil they own…or children grasping onto tiny stubs which they carry carefully from class to class.

Inside our Learning Labs and literacy programmes at Ukhanyo Primary School, we provide the resources for learning – but what happens when these children leave our classes? How are children expected to participate and achieve without these very basic supplies?

Can you help us with a gift of stationery to a child in need?

Support Masicorp this Giving Tuesday and help us equip children in Masi with tools for learning. Your gift of R150 will provide children with much needed basic stationery items.

Unable to donate but still want to share the love? Pay it forward this Giving Tuesday by running your own stationery drive. Donated (new) pencils, erasers, sharpeners and rulers may be dropped off at our Chasmay Campus up until the end of January. Other gently used second hand stationery items will also be welcomed.
